Own Art makes buying art easy and affordable by letting you spread the cost of your purchase over 10 months with an interest free loan, allowing you to start a collection of your own from as little as £10 per month*.
How much can I borrow?
You may borrow from £100 up to £2000 spreading the cost of your purchase in instalments over 10 months on an interest free basis (0% APR representative), subject to status. What can I buy with Own Art?
You may purchase any contemporary original art and craft of any kind including paintings, drawings and sculptures to ceramics, glassware , textiles and furniture. Works of art for purchase with an Own Art loan must be original works by a contemporary (i.e. living) artist. Own Art is only available for the purchase of limited edition prints and multiples only where the artist has produced these in an edition of 150 or less. Own Art cannot be used for the purchase of Giclée prints except where the artist has used digital technology specifically in order to conceive and create an image in this media. Giclée prints that are reproductions of original images created in other media are excluded, even if they have been signed and numbered by the artists.
How can I apply?
Own Art is available to all private UK residents aged 18 years or over subject to status. The scheme is not open to businesses. You can either buy Scottish contemporary art with Own Art online at The Leith Gallery or in person at the gallery. If buying art online with Own Art, choose to pay for your purchase using Own Art on checkout. You will then be taken through a simple application process that takes only 10 minutes. Once you have provided all the information required, you will get an instant decision.
If you are applying for the loan in person at the gallery, you’ll need to have proof of ID with you in the form of a driver’s licence or utility bill, along with a credit or debit card as proof of signature.
