Robert Saunders was born in Paisley in 1950. He trained at Glasgow School of Art and Moray House College, Edinburgh. He has been awarded the John& Mable Craig Award twice and a Scottish Arts Council Bursary. His worksare part of collections throughout Britain, The Channel Islands, France,Holland, Japan and The United States.
His paintings are different. They are figurative pictures which evoke a mood, an atmosphere, a drama to unfold. We are reminded of Manet, Degas and the great Edwardians such as Orchardson and later Cadell.
