Peter graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1980 after which he trained as a film director and worked for the BBC for five years before starting to paint professionally in 1988.

Peter's palette is highly personal, almost Fauvist. He seldom uses colours literally, playing them off against each other in dynamic contrasts. His style has a remarkable maturity and he has been hailed as a new Scottish Colourist.
