Having studied painting before developing an interest in ceramics, it was natural for me to combine form with figurative decoration. My subject matter has references to circuses, childhood, Italy, the sea and music.I exhibit ceramics regularly at exhibitions and art fairs but recently have returned to painting and am busy producing work in both disciplines for forthcoming shows.
The ceramic pieces are either handbuilt or wheel thrown using a white earthenware clay body. They are painted using underglaze stains and various oxides before being fired to 1060 degrees.
